Camp 2107 Sons of Confederate Veterans extend an invitation to you to come join us in the dedication of a marker for First Lt. James W. Gray of the New Salem Invincibles. This unit fought with pride and valor with the 7th Texas Calvary in the battles of Glorieta and Alburque, New Mexico
Sandra Olsen and her husband Richard Olsen are coming from Biloxi Mississippi. She is the great-great granddaughter of James W. Gray
The dedication will be at 3:00 PM, May 17, 2008 at Myrtle Springs cemetery. The cemetery is located in Cherokee county just east of New Summerfield. From Jacksonville take 79 N to New Summerfield. From New Summerfield, take FM 235 east for about 2 1/2 miles to county road CR 4501. Follow CR 4501 about 2 miles to the cemetery on the right.
From Rusk take Highway 84 north to Highway 110. Highway 110 to Ponta. At Ponta continue north on highway 2274 until you reach Cr 4501. Turnleft on CR 4501, Mrytle Springs cemetery will be on the left.
