For the last two years the camp has participated in the Henderson Syrup Festival, in Henderson.

This serves as a way to inform the people of Rusk and surrounding counties the true history of the patriots that served and fought in the war of the aggresion between the states. This also serves as a way to recruit new members into the Sons of Confederate Veterans and to help them preserve our heritage of our ancestors.
