Camp 2107 members cleaned and dedicated the Wiggins Cemetery on Saturday April 19, 2008. The cemetery had been left unattended and the trees and weeds were trying to take over. The Wiggins cemetery is located on property owned by TPL Electric company. We were given permission to clean and care for the cemetery. The fence around the cemetry was down and had to be rebuilt to keep the cows in the pasture from destroying the markers.
James Wiggins was the Captain of the New Salem Invincibles that fought with the 7th Texas Calvary in the battle of Glorieta, New Mexico. The cemetery has only a few graves. A list of the graves follows:
